DIY Matcha Green Tea Jelly tutorial
Made this recipe twice, its really simple, fast, hassle free with Pam (sister). Pam is a crazy baker and cook, she is damn smart but has a weird ambition. She was the one who baked my delicious birthday cake :) The recipe is taken from Harumi's Japanese Cooking by Harumi Kurihara. The jelly is absolutely delicious, makes you want more. The jelly is light and soft in texture, melts in your mouth. Alright so here is the receipe You need FOR THE JELLY ( Serves 4) 1) 2 teaspoons plain gelatin powder 2)1 1/3 tablespoons green tea matcha powder (you can substitute this with ocha, sencha, but of course the taste wont be that strong, i am using 100% pure matcha powder, costs approximately $37 per box) 3)4 tablespoons superfine sugar (you can adjust the amount according to the sweetness you want) 4)1/4 cup boiling water 5)1 1/2 cup tap water For the sauce: 1) 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk 2)1/2 cup whole milk ( i use those ordinary milk that is available in supermarkets) * In addition some sweetened red azuki beans 1) Put 1 1/2 tablespoons of water in a microwave-safe bowl and add gelatin, mix well. Cover and microwave on MEDIUM for 10 seconds until the gelatin has fully dissolves. *we cheated by using boiling hot water, to avoid microwaving it* 2) In a separate bowl mix the green tea powder and sugar. Add the hot water little by little to make a paste Then add a further 1 1/2 cup of tap water and mix well. Make sure its even, every thing is dissolved Add the gelatin liquid to the tea and mix it in quickly. Pour into a mold and refrigerate to set. Stir occasionally to prevent the mixture from separating. The Jelly will take approximately 2-3 hours to set, best to leave it overnight. As for the red beans. wash them thoroughly. Amount wise, its up to you :) Add 4 cups of water Boil till it softens, stir occasionally. For the milk sauce...these are what you will require... Combine the condensed milk and whole milk. Stir till the condensed milk dissolves, refrigerate the mixture. Once the jelly has set, pour the milk sauce and top with azuki beans. ITADAKIMASU
That's all, its really easy! :) Try it, really addictive!!!!!
( What i wore to work on friday, decent? ) Anyway the dessert is almost guilt free, matcha has many health benefits. Matcha contains about 70 times the antioxidants of orange juice and 9 times the beta-carotene of spinach. Some of the health benefits: - Raise your energy level for up to 8 hours with no negative side effects - Induce a state of relaxation and calm mental alertness - Boost metabolism by up to 40% in regular consumers and help control body weight - Contain up to 137 times more of the potent antioxidant EGCG than steeped green tea - Help regulate healthy blood sugar levels - Support healthy cholesterol levels within a normal range - Act as a strong blood detoxifier and alkalizer - Support healthy teeth and gums

#1 OL lunch
After working for a week, the only consolating factor would be the location. There is an abundance of good eating places around the area. Yesterday, decided to spend time alone and explore for good food. So I shall post up a yummy eating place every week, so there will be a total of 10 places for office ladies to go and eat! HAHAHA! So this is the first entry :) Found a place which I am going to visit every week! Its super authentic, love it!!!!!!!!!! RAMEN RAMEN RAMEN They serve Asahikawa style ramen which basically blends tonkotsu (pork bone) and seafood soup for its broth, but without the heavy "pork" smell. This style of ramen is also distinguished by its use of curly egg noodles.
I ordered the half size ramen, which was super filling already, and they dont serve the usual green tea/ocha, instead they serve mugi cha.The ramen is super Q, with a ultra delicious soup base. I added an Agitama (watery egg white + cooked egg yolk = yumyum)
The two friendly chefs are japanese too :) Prices are reasonable, no service charge...Will cost between $10-$20 per person, for a good hearty meal :D I spent approximately $12, and they have this programme which for every $10 spent, you get 1 stamp on the card, after 10 stamps, you get to exchange it for a small bottle of beer/ gyoza/ charsiew don. Sounds like a good deal? YAY looking forward to eat there again. I dont like to eat at the super duper crowded golden shoe/arcade/whatever... back to hibernation.. Junying- haha yes darling, meet me soon! dont eat fish ball noodles already, we go eat good food the italian one at liang court? :D Deb- See you on tuesday, super looking forward yea! ^.^ Regine- Hey babe, enjoy your taiwan trip! Address: Baikohken 7 North canal road

Natsumatsuri 2009
Wow its afternoon already! I just woke up from a deep slumber...was exhausted after all the walking. Made Matcha jelly a few days back with sister..yes it was during the examinations period, but really needed a stress relief from all those endless memorizing. On the last day of the papers-Friday woke up earlier to put makeup, because...I was going to sign contract :)
The paper was moderately difficult, requires thinking and application. I am so glad exams are over!!!!!!!!!!! After which, rushed to sign the contract before meeting my cousin Erin and brother for movie. My brother wanted to watch UP, while Erin watched it for the 2nd time. The storyline plot was really good, but unbelievable in some sense...its worth a watch though.
After the movie, our aunties brought us to Sushi Tei, AMK branch. The service level there is BAD! 1/5 stars... and the food SUCKS Didnt manage to finish it.. Wont return again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ooooh! Qiuting passed me this today:) Thank you! I used it already! hee:) in my favourite pink! Rested a while, before heading out to have dinner at Seafood International Been sometime since I dined here. When I was younger, we used to come here for lunch almost every Sunday after church. Really yummy food :)
However, the service that day was really slow, and some of the staff was really rude. We had to wait about 30 mins for our 1st dish, and another 30 mins for the 2nd dish. So we went out for a short walk. Yeah i look cui, because i wiped off all my makeup at home.. We had about 5-7 dishes, which included the 3 style of cooking hotpot fish, the black pepper crab, Beijing Peking duck, sweet shell. Desserts was HORRIBLE.Really spoilt my impression of the restaurant. I didnt really enjoy the food, and the bill amounted to almost $400. Saturday Left the house around 3pm to meet Yuki at Expo :) Was really excited as it will be our first time at Natsumatsuri, Japanese Summer festival. We had no idea what to expect, especially the tickets. On the way day, SUPER DUPER HOT day!! The Japanese School located at Changi, was there two years ago for the annual JLPT examinations.
We could finally enter after a long long while!!!!
Many many stalls with yummy oishii food! We changed into our yukata that we brought~
Queues everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We only ate an onigiri and i also had a softened coroke. + many many drinks
Pictures before Yuki changed out, it was super duper hot! Sweating like mad! We look super demure right :) We needed a fan!!! its a must!!!!!!!!!
Time flies really fast, it was evening!!!! Some photographers took our picture, received one :) The games booth, looks really fun! The booth people were really enthusiatic, shouting, screaming and the kids are delighted after winning their prizes Went to watch the performances, ranging from dances to various performance..
The most entertaining one goes to them
This little girl wanted a picture with me! HAHAHA!
Look who I saw? REGINE!!! :)
She was working there with her friend :)
and I think she is cute, looking good in her yukata! she was very shocked though!
i look super funny, but the girl looks better here...recovered from her shock after a long day, it was time for FOOD before heading home!
That's all, time for japanese class~
LG PC Suite is driving me crazy blog tomorrow, promise! P. S. who wants to work f1 with me? Email me Pay & details after selected :D 2 digits/hr

Yesterday had a killer killer super duper killer paper and received a very very bad news about my attachment =( So when Junying asked me to accompany her to Phuture, I agreed immediately! HAHAHA! no regrets, it was fun! Had dinner at City hall... Because novena is too small, too boring. We were supposed to meet at 8pm but because i took a nap till 6pm, prepared too slowly, and also changed the venue, ended up meeting around 830pm. after eating, all the shops were closed already!!!!!!!!!!!!! so we headed over the zouk... Thanks to Junying's friend, we got in immediately no queue no fuss.. HAHA Amanda came too :) as usual the music was super boring at first, it was only around 2-3am that the music got better. see how much drinks we had, full bottle to empty bottles OMG right.. and look at that flowery skirt, SUPER DUPER LOL! drank alot, some idiot had to give us some stupid bailey shot which tasted HORRIBLE like coffee+loads of alcohol, super duper disgusting!!!!!!!! no more pictures because i look horribly bad in pictures with my lobster red face =( bought ice cream a few days ago, yummy fruits flavour! but ice kimo is better, lazy to walk there now LAST PAPER TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!! gogogogogogogo

Eight reasons why you're still single
Came across this article today and thought it was quite true M^.^M Eight reasons why you're still singleby Cynthia & Steven LeeYou’re independent, decent-looking and financially stable. You have lots to offer, yet you’re still single. If you can't understand why you’ve not found the right person, maybe you’ve been guilty of the classic mistakes many singles make.See if any of the reasons below describe you perfectly, and perhaps it's time to think about ways to remedy your predicament. Reason #1: You are as busy as a bee Your career is your first love, and ambition flows fervently through your veins. You thought you could find a partner after rising to the top of the corporate ladder, but you’ve since realized there is no end to the climb.Having spent most of your time focusing on getting ahead, you’ve lost sight of your social life and now you have no clue where to begin searching for your life partner. But just remember that you have to make time for the things that matter to you. Reason #2: You value your independence over being 'tied down' by a partner When you were younger, being single and independent was enticing, as you could do anything you wanted without being accountable to someone else. But being in a relationship involves plenty of commitment, sacrifice and compromise. Even though you're probably in the habit of doing things on your own terms, sometimes a little change is good.Your daily routines are not set in stone; try to let go and be more open to allow someone in. You can invite that special someone into your life and still have your freedom (plus you now have newfound freedom to share transparently and intimately with your partner.) Reason #3: You don't try hard enough Good things in life don't come for free.If you’re sitting around the house, moping and waiting for the right person to somehow fall from the sky, your chances of success are slim. It sounds intimidating and stressful, but the more you put yourself out there, the more opportunities you have to meet your ideal match.Sure, you'll have to sift through several unlikely candidates before meeting someone with promise, but it'll be worth it.When you put in the time and effort to expand your social circle, you'll find yourself making more friends, and potential prospects will come naturally along the way. Reason #4: You have high standards that are impossible to meet If your checklist includes requirements like tall, good-looking, fit, intelligent, charismatic, rich, and with flawless character traits, chances are you’ll be disappointed. We all want our life partner to be perfect (or as close to perfection as possible), but somewhere along the line we have to admit that it’s unachievable, because no one is perfect. You don’t have to lower your standards to include everyone on the street, but if you’re too choosy about qualities you’re looking for in a partner, you may be letting the right person slip through your fingers. Reason #5: You are too afraid to put yourself out there and meet other people The thought of being vulnerable and opening up to someone else scares you to death. Our fears include commitment, failure and rejection; you feel self-conscious and lack the confidence to approach others of the opposite sex.But all you need is to take that first step to meet new people and engage in simple conversation with them. Once you’ve gotten that initial meeting out of the way, things will go smoother and fall into place easily.Remember, practice makes perfect. Reason #6: You have turned bitter and cynical after failed past relationships We’ve all had our hearts broken (sometimes into several pieces), but it is essential to learn from it and move on. You can't let your negativity affect you when trying to meet new people, because no one wants to be stuck in the presence of a sour puss.So take some time to let old wounds heal, then leave all that baggage behind and look forward to starting a new, clean slate with someone else. Reason #7: You have not made an effort to maintain your appearance consistently Appearances matter. It's as simple as that.We may try to convince ourselves to look past the surface and see the beauty that lies within, but if there is no physical chemistry, the relationship will face a challenging start. That is not to say that you must look perfectly coiffed during every single second of every single day, but at least attempt to look decent and maintain a good appearance consistently whether at work or play. You never know when you will bump into a potential partner. So put in the effort to learn the art of grooming, ie. wearing the right colour or style that is uniquely you. Reason #8: You treasure your possessions more than people We all have things that we love our favorite pets, computers, cars, TV shows, gadgets, clothes, and the list goes on.But keep in mind that these are merely material belongings, and cannot substitute for human companionship. So put aside your valuables for at least one day in a week, and step out into the world to give yourself an opportunity to find love. Tell me how true can it get? =^.^= GOT TO GO NOW! EIR tomorrow, good luck everyone

Thoughts about you
Hello :) Regarding the last post, the part about the true friends, I admit I was angry, because I really hate it when people fly aeroplane, and the reasons you all give was kind of...forget it :)I started on my notes finally, after so much procrastination. My attention span is super short, i keep walking around the house, in out in out. Wasting so much time that i hate myself, for not trying harder, for not being more disciplined. P.S. Videos of the birthday cakes cutting are on facebook :D I finally downloaded the pictures from my Viewty, this was really sometime ago...before EIR presentation, the whole class kind of disappointed the teacher, and we chose to redo, yea so at least we got a B+ Doubt i posted this before, got this sometime back because my Stila blusher ran out...I rarely use blusher though, but anyway...i like the brown eyeshadow, use it frequently nowadays... AND OMG! Crystal has almost the same set as mine! OMGOMGOMG because i thought she was a loyal Bobbi Brown fan. I decided to reward myself a little by heading to town for dinner with Linny. I was seriously very stressed by the fact many people would be studying at home while i eat my dinner and saunter around orchard road...but i kind of need a life...at least an "energy booster" before calculas tutorial, Corde and I went to the bookshop, found this sweet! Its Cinderella edition, I love Cinderella since I was a little girl...so someday my Prince Charming will come along! HAHAHA Sunday during church, we took pictures before the service started, feels good to have someone accompanying you during service, instead of being alone... Ah! this was the aftermath of the hair workshop, BIG EXPLOSIVE HEAD!!!!! maybe I should have this hairstyle, makes my face smaller, no? the lovely lovely curls Elaine did for me, took her hours, pity her cos my hair is so long, as you can see, almost touching my butt already! Should i cut my hair??
My hp battery went berserk, so I was planning to get another battery, it cost $68! OMG Soooooo, I am going to buy a new phone next month, when my contract is up... LG cookie? Really cute, remember i posted the korean youtube video before in my blog? Samsung Preston? HTC Diamond?? Actually Viewty is quite a good phone, to me...has the functions i want, but the LG PC suite always HANG!!!!!!!!!!! Alright! its back to study!!!
I will be back sooooooooooooooon

1 year closer to being a taitai
More than 24 hours of partying, celebration, fun and booze starting from around 10.30pm (8th August) till 1.30am(10th August)... Warning: a picture intensive post ahead! preparing for the party step 1) dress up step 2) blast music from imeem step 3) dance your life away Was really really excited to head to Phuture because of some fish, but...forget it, the fish died and I flushed it down the toilet bowl...this is kind of coded language, so you might not understand, read between the lines okay? :D Notice my hair colour? any difference? Had a futile attempt at dying my hair brown =( ITS STILL BLACK UGLY BLACK! AHHHHHHH zoooooomed off to Zouk with the help of the F1 taxi driver. swerving off at every turns, seems like a roller coaster ride to warm us up... Maja spent so much!!! OMG! Guilty!!! Drank alot, dance alot.... Was really unlucky because this piece of lard stepped on my feet and my beautiful wedges broke! Thank you very much Mr lard, you ruined my night in a way...I had to drag my feet, thankfully i was able to walk still... Left at 4am while the last song played,Pump it to avoid being sardined.... Prata till 5am, this time at my house one because the one opposite Zouk has such lousy service With barely an hour worth of sleep, crawled out of bed to head to church, after 2 weeks of absence...Really really tiredddddd Left Ms Sleeping Beauty a note as she was snoring away...Should have took a picture of that beautiful sight :D When I got home from Church + buying sushi and ice cream, sleeping beauty awoke and transformed into Sadako... Sadako was looking at what Sydney got me :) Thank you Syd! Sydney left a parcel at my doorstep before she rushed off to Malaysia, because I was out buying ice cream from Ice Kimo for my party :D The ladies were super steady, came at around 3 plus, wasnt really prepared, so had to leave them to self entertain themselves while i hastily prepared....Sorry about that The ladies presenting me with my present, looking soooooo happy Yuki and Marita! Shake it shake it
Helloooo No school feels good! I can wake up anytime i like~ do anything i like~ I can update my blog more frequently too!!!! HAHA Besides watching J drama, i read J magazines too.. So here are some dramas i watched recently.... Call centre no koibito is about this sales man who got posted to a rural area, where they handle the customer complaints, although its a neglected department, it is a crucial and essential for the company's success and customers... Shiroi Haru provides an insight to released prisoners, the discrimination they faced, also mafia. But a kid can really change the adults' perception. A really touching story of love, betrayal and friendship... Maid Deka is about this gangster turned maid detective, she goes undercover to solve crime through her thinking. She is highly skilled and manages to solve the different mystery. Currently I am at episode 3, cant wait for the other episodes to be out, really thrilling~ Went to town with Yuki just now... kinda shallow..bored with the Singapore!!!!!! so crowded and nothing to look at! Maybe I shall go swim or something tomorrow.... I am so glad that ballet lessons are going to start soon, once i finalized my IPP timings! korean dinner + banana shake = super bloated! Shine Baby

Athirah's birthday
Last wednesday was Athirah's birthday :) Athirah was my good friend in Secondary 3,together with Cheryl Decided to have dinner together as we rarely meet, maybe once a year?
We had dinner at Ramen Ten :) Prior to that, I was frantically looking for her present. Went into many shops to look for a dress, because she didnt have any. But it was really an uphill task to look for dress which had sleeves and not revealing! Finally, decided on this pinkish-red Topshop dress :) Saw many friends that day! Sang her a birthday song, softly! HAHA We spent hours chatting and catching up, by the time we were done, it was about 9pm+ They said I wore very lady like that day! Super demure kind, due to my pink flats Took this picture before we parted Wonder when is the next time I am going to meet them up... We are all so caught up with our own hectic schedules and school

お父さんの誕生日♪
Last thursday, it was my father's birthday :) A very simple celebration with Bakerzin NY Cheesecake In the morning, had to wake up early to head over to Chinese Garden station. Approximately 1 hour journey! Yuki accompanied me First we went to Chinese Garden, which possessed more "props"
Then moved over to Japanese Garden and changed into my yukata Now you know why I dont tie my hair up, cos i have a fat and BIG face After the shoot, we had lunch nearby, japanese food! I was craving for katsu don,due to the drama I watched However it wasnt really nice and I couldnt finish my food(really rare sight!) Took a bus to City hall, I couldn't stand being in a "rural" area!!!! OChaCha was having a 1 for 1 promotion! YAY Both of us had OChacha Rocks, it was super delicious, as expected! Matcha is made from premium japanese tea leaves and the benefits of drinking matcha is really good! Take a look: encourage weight loss, lower blood pressure, boost your immune system and decrease "bad" cholesterol. it is said to contain 70 times the antioxidants of orange juice. because matcha drinkers consume the entire leaf, rather than steeping the tea and throwing out the leaves, they enjoy 100% of its energy and health benefits, making it possible for 1 cup of matcha to equal the goodness of 10 cups of regular green tea.
Off to Japanese Examinations!
